Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka Welcomes New Mentoring Coordinator!



Dehmel brings over 4 years of experience working with social service agencies in the social services field. Dehmel has a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Lakehead University where she graduated with honours.

She also has experience in fundraising, campaign building, various mental health methodologies and working with individuals who experience homelessness.

“I am ecstatic to be a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka team!” said Dehmel. I am looking forward to creating and nurturing valuable supports for young people who face adversities through volunteer-based mentoring programs that have a lasting positive impact on the Littles.”

The new Mentoring Coordinator joined the agency in late October 2021 alongside Executive Director, Fallon Miller. She has begun getting to know the people BBBS Muskoka works with and showing her passion for supporting those who face various barriers.

“It is already clear that Tanya makes an excellent addition to our team!” Miller stated. “She does not shy away from a challenge and has effortlessly taken on her new role. We could not be happier to have Tanya supporting mentoring in Muskoka!”
